“I served with Johnny onboard the USS Spruance DD 963, he was in my unit, and in the bunk under mine it our berthing compartment. We got to be really good friends, learning of his passing causes me great sadness. I live in Arkansas, Johnny visited me in Arkansas when he got out of the Navy on his way home. Huge sigh….gosh I really hate this.”
