It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Ann Hicks of Yorktown, Virginia, who passed away on December 9, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Samuel T. Hicks Sr.; her close friend C. D. Hudson; her daughter Kristie Lorraine; her grandson Ron Casey; her parents, Wilton Moore and Mary Green Addleman; and her sisters, Ada Bright and Pat Curnutte.
She is survived by: her children, Sam Hicks Jr. (Becky) and Pamela A. Hicks; her pet Patches; her grandchildren, Carmen Doherty (Sean), Samson Hicks (Jen), Brooke Tapscott (Dallas), Brett Haislip (Sloan), Shannon Ingraham (Nigel), Chase and Shane; and her great grandchildren, Caleb, Declan, Harper, Judo, Sammie, Rudy, Jack and Hayes. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
She was a part of the American Heart Association and the area chairperson for Heart Month for years.
