She was predeceased by: her parents, Avery D. "Arkie" Short, Jr. and Mary Lou Short (Blake); and her former husband Joe P. Thompson. She is survived by: her children, Bradley Martinez and Stephanie Martinez-Ruckman; and her sister Linda Freeman. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
