Thelma Marie Dobbins Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 30, 2023, at the age of 90, Thelma Marie Dobbins of Woodstock, Virginia, born in Scott Depot, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Ray and Josephine Coen Chapman; her husband Thomas Martin Dobbins; her son William Randolph Staton; and her siblings, Homer, Howard, Paul Chapman and JoAnne Bennett.

She is survived by: her sister Stella Irene Eggleton of Woodstock, VA; and her children, Dallas Staton (Rosemary) of Youngstown, OH, James Dobbins (Carolyn) of Sutton, WV, Johnny Dobbins of Augusta, Georgia, Sheila Leggett (Anthony) of Sutton, WV, Lynn Westfall and Blanche Miller. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to a charity of one's choice in memory of Thelma.

You could never not smile when you talked to her. She would call me every week to make sure I was okay. I will miss those calls from my Grammy, but I know she will always be with me because her spirit lives on; I carry her tender heart, firecracker attitude, and passion for caring for others.”
