It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Peggy Mullins Dean (Wise, Virginia), who passed away on October 13, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her son Charles Jonathan Dean; her parents, Joseph Troy and Naomi Mary Mullins (Adams); and her siblings, Cleo Elliott, Mary Smith and Joe Mullins.
She is survived by: her husband Clinton Fletcher Dean (Pete); her children, Chris McKnight of Montrose, CO and Fletcher Dean (Jane Meade-Dean) of Midland, MI; her grandchildren, Will Dean, Taylor Dean and Maggie Dean; her brother James Mullins of Lexington; her pet Charlie; and also Peggy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please consider an "in memory of" donation to The James Taylor Adams Scholarship Award in Writing at the University of Virginia's College at Wise (1 College Ave, Wise, VA 24293), named for her grandfather, James Taylor Adams, a noted regional writer and historian. Donations could alternatively be made to the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center in Norton to support the wonderful work they do.
