He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jo Sturgill Maggard; his daughter Christa Maggard; his grandson Micah Maggard; and his parents, Bruce Maggard and Georgene Addington Maggard.
He is survived by: his son Nathaniel Maggard (Andrea) of Wise; his grandson Noah Maggard of Wise; his close friend Wilma Bledsoe; and his siblings, Danny Maggard (Judy) of Pound, George Maggard (Carolyn) of Nickelsville, VA, Michael Maggard of Whitesburg, KY, Angela Hunsucker of Whitesburg and Kelly Mullins (Kevin) of Pound, VA. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
