He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Rodgers Willey and Lee Elwood Willey, Sr.; and his sisters, Sharyn Minnick (Robert Minnick) and Joanne Nicholson. He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Funk Willey; his daughters, Shannon Dayley (Wendall Dayley) and JoEllen Coates; and his grandchildren, Renee Hough (Sarah Hoffman) and Rhys Dayley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
