He was predeceased by: his sister-in-law Ellen Witmer. He is survived by: his parents, Martha Witmer (Martin) of Rockingham and David Witmer of Weyers Cave; his wife Mary Witmer (Hoover); his children, Duane Witmer of Weyers Cave, Dean Witmer of Weyers Cave, Destiny Freed (Brendon) of Dayton, LeAnn Witmer of Weyers Cave and Lori Witmer of Weyers Cave; and his siblings, Maryann Miller (Nathaniel) of Dalton, OH, Louise Tice (Ben) of Broadway, Martha Jean Manetta (Mark) of Fulks Run, Joel Witmer of Dundee, OH and Neal Witmer (Christina) of Morrison, TN..
