With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Scates (Warsaw, Virginia), who passed away on February 26, 2020 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Zacharias Scates and Martha Ann Dishman Scates; and his brother Earl Edward Scates. He is survived by: his wife Louise Wheeler Scates; his children, Charles Mervin Scates (Nora Mae), Robert Augustus Scates, Jr. (Tonya) and Susan Melinda Symonette (Victor); his sister Linda Ellen Holsinger (Edward); his grandchildren, R. Adam Hedges (Kristen), Chandler R. Symonette, Etienne M. Symonette and Grayson T. Scates; his great grandchild Acadia Rose Hedges; his nephews, Steven Holsinger and Gary Holsinger; his cousin Mary Elizabeth Sanford; and his pets, Midnight and Grayce.
