He is survived by: his wife Sandy Dodson of Warrenton, VA; his children, Stephanie Lea West (Darrin King) of Bealeton, VA, Gwendolyn April Lawson of Warrenton, VA and William "Wilbur" R. S. Dodson (Anna Dodson) of Murrells Inlet, SC; his siblings, Pat Layman (Bill), Linda Breeden, Steve Dodson (Esther), Earnie Dodson (Marie), Dennis Dodson (Kathy), Kenny Dodson (Cathy), Kevin Dodson (Kathy) and Diane Williamson (Jeff); his grandchildren, Lauryn (William), Justin, Tessa and Charleston; his great grandchild William, Jr.; his niece Kristyn (Jack); and his nephews, Brett and Jake. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Warrenton and/or The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
