He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ernest and Goldie Pearl Sowder (Settle); his son Mark Sowder; and his siblings, Lorraine, Evelyn, Betty, Bonnie Sue, Geneva, Harold and Sherman.
He is survived by: his wife Janet; his son Andrew Sowder; his daughter-in-law Dean Foster; his grandchildren, Anna Charlize of Mount Pleasant, SC., Lucas James of Mount Pleasant, SC. and Laurel Legare Sowder of Mount Pleasant, SC.; his siblings, Rosann Culley, James and Charles; and his close friend Janet. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Bob's memory to the Laurel Ridge Community College "Building the Future Fund" for career and technical education, including the skilled trades.
