He was predeceased by: his wife Ramona Velez; and his parents, Marcelo Velez and Ramona "Mama Moncha" Velez. He is survived by: his brother Hector Velez; his children, Susan Maldonado, Katherine D. Collado, Julie Gonzalez and Charles Velez, Jr.; his niece Marybeth Smith-Velez; and his nephew Wilfredo Velez. He is also survived by his eleven grandkids and 20 great-grandkids, Goddaughter.
