She was predeceased by: her parents, James "Jimmie Lee" Hawthorne and Birdie Lee Hawthorne; and her siblings, Annie Byrd, Jeannie Dean, Mary Jones, James Hawthorne, Michael Hawthorne and Paul Hawthorne.

She is survived by: her sons, Derrick Hawthorne, Amir Islam (Shundra) and Tarrance "Tank" Holcombe (Kathy); her brothers, Brady Hawthorne (Karen) and Ricky Hawthorne; her nephew Labarron Jones (Sharon); and her niece Charlene D. Jones. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, friends.
