He was predeceased by: his parents, Coy Barneycastle and Mary Lee Carter Barneycastle; and his sons, Johnny Ray Barneycastle, C. L. Barneycastle, Sanford Barneycastle, Jimmy Barneycastle and Gene Barneycastle.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Hall Barneycastle; his daughter Shannon Barneycastle of Winston Salem; his fiancés, Macayla Brickell (Kaylie) and Stephen William Barneycastle of Winston Salem; his grandchild Madison Clark; his siblings, Mary Jane Key of Dobson, Mozelle Bledson of Dobson and Calvin; his sister-in-law Nancy Barneycastle of Siloam; and his close friends, Bill Mabry and Hurley Farmer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
