He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Summerfield and Beatrice Bowman Childress; his son Randle Davis Childress; and his siblings, Claudia Childress Wood, Lillie Childress Fleming, Eugene Childress, Ted Childress, Clarence Childress and Larry Childress.
He is survived by: his daughter Nancy Childress Williard; his grandsons, Christopher Childress, Christian Childress and Joshua Dale Williard; his great grandchild Landon Thomas Williard; and his niece Charlotte Fleming.
