He is survived by: his wife Linette Dail Martin; his daughter Julie Martin Wells (Christopher); his grandsons, Jackson and Parker; his son Brian Hunter Martin; his granddaughter Claire; and his siblings, Sharon Martin Hauser and James Melvin Martin, Jr. (Charlotte). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southside Baptist Church Missions.
