He is survived by: his wife Norma Buchanan of Suffolk, Virginia; his siblings, Lynnel Boone (Buchanan) of Glyndon, Minnesota and David Shane Buchanan of Fargo; his children, Daniel McKanan (Buchanan) of Somerville, Massachusetts, Mark Buchanan of Nashua and Sarah Blake (Buchanan) of Suffolk; and his granddaughters, Oriana McKanan, Abigail Rebekah Blake and Eleanor Hannah Blake.
