Mollie Harrelson Melton Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mollie Harrelson Melton of Stuart, Virginia, born in Marion, South Carolina, who passed away on October 26, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Blake Harrelson and Clara Odell Johnson Harrelson; and her siblings, Marvin Harrelson, Arthur "Shot" Harrelson and Mary Frances Horres.
She is survived by: her husband Rev. Gerald Melton; her daughters, Bernice Ann Lanning of Stuart and Elizabeth Gail Jones (Ronell) of Gladys, VA; her grandchildren, Mollie Jordan Reedy (Tanner), Dylan Raymond Jones, Benjamin Gerald Lanning (Amanda), Brendon Thomas Lanning (Bre) and Remington Arthur Lanning (Liz); her great grandchild Astrid Lynn Lanning; her sister Catherine Sue Price (William) of South Carolina; and her sister-in-law Glenda Harrelson of Marion. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sycamore Baptist Church (179 Sycamore Church Rd, Stuart, VA 24171). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
