With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lawrence J. Schafter of Springfield, Virginia, born in Seward, Alaska, who passed away on December 20, 2022 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Marie Schafter (Craft); his daughters, Erin Salo of Alexandria, VA and Allyson Renzella of Springfield, VA; his son-in-law Nicholas Renzella; his grandsons, Alex and Aidan Renzella; and his siblings, Carol Butler of Seattle, WA, Gloria, Joan Veitch of Arvada, CO, Daniel Schafter of Lake Nedagamon, WI, Patrick Schafter of New London, CT, George and Donald Craft.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital be made in his name.
