He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Gregory Mitchell, Sr.; his parents, Goodman and Virginia; his siblings, Virginia Grace and Thomas; his son Richard Douglas, Jr. (Lisa); his grandchildren, Becca and Gregory Todd, Jr.; his sisters, Elsie Mitchell Ferguson and Barbara Mitchell Westman; and his sister-in-law Jackie Holloway Dickerson.
