She was predeceased by: her parents, Mable Estelle Harper and Urban Lyle Joy, Sr.; her brothers, Urban Lyle Joy, Jr. and Billy Ray Joy; her brother-in-law Wallace C. Steele, Sr.; her nephew Wallace C. "Chip" Steele, Jr.; and her stepdaughter Shirley P. Edwards.
She is survived by: her son Roderick Shawn Pillow (Belinda); her granddaughters, B. Amanda Winks (Forrest) and Lauren N. Pillow; her great grandchildren, Reagan, Joseph and Kennedy Winks; her sister Hazel S. Williamson (Earl); her stepchildren, David Puckette, Jr. (Linda), Violet Esposito (Claude), Willie Puckette and David Edwards; her sister-in-law Patsy L. Joy; and her nieces, Susan S. Maxey (David) and Brenda J. Brown (Harold). She is also survived by great nieces, nephews and cousins.
