He is survived by: his wife Shirley Garbee Massie; his son Mark Massie of Rustburg; his stepdaughters, Betty Bumgarner of Lynchburg and Norma Millner (Dennis) of Lynchburg; his siblings, Carroll Massie (Linda) of Monroe, Virginia Makielski of St. Augustine, FL, Elizabeth Mitchell (Dick) of Waverly and Thomas Massie of Cataula, GA; his grandchildren, Dakota Massie, Jonathan Bumgarner, Jessica Jones (Adam), Heather Pollard (Ben), Matt Millner (Bethany) and Renae Normandin (Quincy); and his nephew Pat Gossett.
