He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Goodnight and Lena Hivner Goodnight; and his wife Mattie Jean Harrington Goodnight. He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Tammy Barker (Don) of Rural Retreat, VA and Darla Wilds (John) of Forsyth, GA; his grandchildren, Mandy Owens (Chad), Matthew Wilds (Ashli), Jennifer Norman (Travis), Caleb Wilds (Molly) and Samantha Greer (Troy); and his great grandchildren, Micah, Asher, Leila, Ellie, Averi, Harper, Evan, Jackson, Owen, Tilli and Cannon.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #229, 210 E Rail Road Ave., Rural Retreat, VA 24368 Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, VA is serving the Goodnight family.
