He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hobart Wright and Ollie Louvena Davis Wright; and his siblings, Hobart F. Wright and Ann Wright Stafford. He is survived by: his sons, Charles G. Wright (Connie) and Richard H. Wright (Georgetta); his grandchildren, Kerry Wright Middleton (Michael), Charles Richard Wright (Amanda), Brandon Jon Wright and Cyndi Wright Linkous (Adam); his great grandchildren, Zackery, Mason, Kiptyn Middleton, Harrison, Hamilton Wright and Magnolia Linkous; and his brother-in-law Worley Stafford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to New Bethel United Methodist Church, Wytheville, VA.
