He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel A Boyd and Margie Smith Boyd; his grandson Willard Pierce Boyd II; his siblings, Joel A. Junior (Peggy Boyd), Raymond E. (Lydia Boyd), Carl A. (Ruth Boyd), Sophia (Monroe Endicott), Belle (Frank McClanahan), Nancy Boyd Stevens and Eva Barrow (Jim) of Albany, GA; and also Clayton A. McClanahan.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Boyd (Selena) of Harrisonburg, VA, Susan Elswick (Todd) of Big Rock, VA and Sandy Horne (Gary) of Cedar Bluff, VA; his siblings-in-law, Bob Stevens of Houston, TX, Lois McClanahan of Daleville, AL and Patricia Dales of Cedar Bluff, VA; his grandchildren, Jarod, Heather Looney, Grace, Richard Serna, Robert Pierce Boyd, Jeremiah Horne, Tyler, Mary Looney, Brittany Elswick, Casey, Harley Goins, Jordan, Emily Elswick, Anderson and Jasmine Elswick; and his nephew Bill.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in honor Bill's ministry to the Blueridge College of Evangelism, P.O. Box 979, Wytheville, VA 24382, where they are educating preachers and servants of God to honor the gospel.
