He was predeceased by: his parents, E. Vincent Haynie and Frances Armsworthy Haynie. He is survived by: his wife Anne Hall Haynie; his children, D. Vincent Haynie, Jr. (Lydia), E. Russell Haynie (Lynne), Kathleen Whaley Pittman (Timothy) and Holly Whaley King (Maxwell); his grandchildren, Emory (Samuel Haynie), Sarah Haynie McCarthy (David Christopher Haynie), Tiffany (Paige Pittman) and Allen (Anne King); his siblings, Julia Merle Cardozo Haynie of Colorado and Norwood Cardozo (Sue) of Florida; and his uncle Wendell Haynie (Anne Winters).
Funeral arrangements will be private due to Coronavirus concerns.
