He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Eugene Fisher and Ethel Jewell Fisher of Virginia; and his son J. P. Fisher, Jr.. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Micah Collins, Zachary Taylor, Hallie Fisher and Angel Fisher; his siblings, Mary Price of Radford and Dean Fisher (Matt) of Rocky Mount, N. C.; and his daughter-in-law Jennifer Hinkley. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
