He is survived by: his grandsons, Josh and Luke Sumner; his brother David (Vanessa Sumner); his brother-in-law Malcolm (Debbie Boothe); his niece B. J. (Dan Ratliff); his great-niece Valley Rhea; his niece Lacie Ann (Ryan Jones); his great-nieces, Nolcie Mae, Joni Leigh of Pulaski and Dublin; his cousins, Gary, Carol Hancock, Kenny, Debbie Hancock, Debbie Mack, Ashley McGrady, Lisa and Junior Frasier; his aunt Sonia Easter; his uncle John (Janet Hancock); his close friends, George, Bonnie Bevins, Mary Dunbar, Mary Katherine, Doug Woodie, William, Ping Braddock, Roger Dean, Barbara Cain, Jack and Mary Ellen Byrd; and his caregivers, George Wynes and Mike Mullins.
