He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Givens and Grace Whittaker Givens; his grandchildren, Gary Clark Holstein III and Carleigh Wells; and his sister Linda Lou Dunbar.
He is survived by: his children, Alvin Givens (Sheila) of Narrows, Jason Givens (Karen) of Narrows, Hadassah Simmons of Pearisburg and Crystal Wells (Timmy Williams) of Narrows, VA; his sisters, Jo Ann Kirk of North Carolina and June Diehl (Don) of Goshen, Ohio; and his friend Betty Mahaffey.
