She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Sutherland and Nellie Turner Sutherland; her husband James "Hammer" Stevenson; and her siblings, Nellie "Liz" Noel, Sue Ervine, Alice Vencill, Roger Sutherland and Jay Sutherland.
She is survived by: her children, Darrin Stevenson of Springville, VA, Beverly Matthews (Herman) of Pounding Mill, VA and Kristie Stevenson of Pounding Mill, VA; her sister Linda Waddell of Cedar Bluff, VA; and her grandchildren, Megan Pascale (Cody), Steven Matthews and Paige Stevenson.
