It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alta Marie Shelton of Pounding Mill, Virginia, born in Tazewell, Virginia, who passed away on January 8, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elisha McGlothlin and Susan Louise Carter McGlothlin; her husband Rev. Ralph McKinley Shelton; her grandson Dwayne Lambert; her siblings, Charlie McGlothlin, William McGlothlin, Cecil McGlothlin, Mary Jackson, Naomi McGlothlin and Hunt of Arizona; and her grandson-in-law John N. Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Margaret Blankenship (Carl) of Pounding Mill, VA, Donna Lambert (Jess) of Greensboro, NC, Tina Street (Dempsey) of Garden Creek, VA and Kenny Shelton (Kathy) of Pounding Mill, VA. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; three special nieces.
