He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora Collins Slemp and Joseph Glenn Slemp; his brother Lowell Thomas Slemp; and his stepfather Stewart Slemp. He is survived by: his wife Marquita Meade Slemp; his children, Rev. Joseph Glen Slemp (Mitzi), Marianne Slemp Vanover (Gene), Rev. Samuel Edward Slemp, Jr. (Ginger) and Karen Sue Stacy (Les); his grandchildren, Daniel, Drew, Cristina, Ryan, Kaitlin, Sarah, Lydia and Rebekah; and his great grandchildren, Micah, Sawyer, Evelynn, Levi and Victoria. He is also survived by many friends and relatives.
