She was predeceased by: her parents, Valley Penn and Mary Belle Cobb Penn; her husband Posey Lester Hagwood; her son George Robert Hagwood; and her siblings, Georgia Hairston, Laura Nowlin, Lucy Hylton, Nannie Reynolds, John and Samuel Penn.
She is survived by: her children, Mary (David Penn), Nannie (Lawrence Hylton), Wanda Welch, Betty Hagwood, Shirley Dodson, Joseph Hagwood, Sammy (Gloria Hagwood), Moses (Wanda Hagwood) and Thomas (Ivy Hagwood); and her sister Maggie Penn. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.
