She is survived by: her children, Howard E Brackens II, Tracy Smith, Karen Gregory (Bobby), Rene Thomas (Eric) and Rita Wildman (Art); her brother James Spence Rice (Edith); and her grandchildren, Ashley Smith Askew (Cameron), Chloe Brackens, Richard Smith, Andy Pittman, Jessica Hennig (Paul), Micheal Brackens, Sherrie Scott, Joni Wildman, Heather Gregory-Pelausa (Orion) and Sarah Gregory. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service (7626 NC-213, Mars Hill, NC 28754). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at the Spencer Rice Cemetery (4752 Big Laurel Rd, Marshall, NC 28753).
