He was predeceased by: his brothers, Freeman Greer (Nellie) of Lansing and Ford Greer (Barbara) of Pennsylvania. He is survived by: his wife Audrey Charnock Ball Greer; his children, Anthony Greer of Kentucky, Phillip Greer of Kentucky, Kenneth Greer (Tresa) of Kentucky and Debbie Byrd of Wilkesboro; and his stepsons, William Aaron Ball (Sandy) of West Jefferson, John Allen Ball (Melanie) of Grassy Creek and Benjamin Talbert Ball (Denise) of Independence, VA. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
