He was predeceased by: his wife Deborah Major Mitchem; his parents, Russell Garrett Mitchem and Ruth Rainier Mitchem Robins; his stepfather James Roger Robins; and his brother Neal Robins.
He is survived by: his children, Wendy Burch (Jerry) and Wendell Mitchem, Jr. (Chelsea); his brothers, Jim Mitchem (Misa) and Jimmy Robins; and his grandchildren, Allison Payne (Skyler), Avary Payne, John Sears, Joseph Sears and Ashlyn Sears. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
