She was predeceased by: her parents, John Goodwin and Caroline Patteson Craddock; her husband George Edward Saunders Jr.; and her grandparents, Abram Poindexter, Ella Elizabeth Craddock, James Macon and Helen Woodward Patteson.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Spencer Saunders Sandlin of Richmond, VA, John V. Saunders of Los Angeles, CA and Christopher B. Saunders of Forest, VA.; her grandchildren, Joshua Sandlin (Madison) of Richmond, VA, Madison (Jon) of Atlanta, GA, Samuel and Spencer Saunders of Forest, VA; and her great grandchildren, Margot June and Malcolm Sandlin.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory (220 Breezewood Dr, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Virginia Memorial Park (11490 Forest Rd, Forest, VA 24551).
