It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsie Louise Birchette Hicks (Lawrenceville, Virginia), born in Warfield, Virginia, who passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Edward Birchette and Sallie Elizabeth Perry Birchette; her son Maxie Eugene, Jr. (Iris); her grandson Donald Jr.; and her brothers, Herman Jr., Maurice, James and Melvin.
She is survived by: her children, Marilyn Janice (John), Olinda Jean (Donald), Chiquita Babette (Charles) and Sherry Maureen; her grandchildren, Shanda Nicole, John Antonio, Jermaine Anthony (Ronni), Jerome Arkell, Natoya Katrell, Shannon Arlene (Michael), Aquira Cherelle (Brian), Kimberly Michelle and Tailor Edel-Sheree; and her siblings, Vivian Thomas and Donald Birchette (Carolyn). She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
