He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lt. Colonel McLean Hampton and Rose Hampton; his wife Mildred "Susie" Hampton; his daughter Rosemary L. Hampton (George W. Islip, III); and his siblings, Lois Edwards and John R. Hampton (Bobbi Jo). He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
