With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Burwell Lee Bridges Sr. (Keysville, Virginia), born in Chase City, Virginia, who passed away on November 8, 2019 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Lee and Bertha Crow Bridges; his brothers, Walter, R. E. and Jennings; and his stepson James Bowers.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Thompson Bridges; his sons, Burwell "Lee" Bridges, Jr. of Keysville and Robert "Warren" Bridges of Brookneal; his grandchildren, Danielle Fifield (Jim) of Farmville and Brandon Bowers (Jessica) of Boydton; his nieces, Helen Rogers (Jimmy) of Boydton, Verna Mae Bowers of Boydton and Linda Bridges of Boydton; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Thompson of Keysville and Earley Thompson (Irma) of Williamsburg. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1622 E. Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23228, or the Ash Camp Baptist Church.
