He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosco Mullins and Birdie Collins Mullins Sweeney; his wife Gail Russell Mullins; and his siblings, Gene Mullins, Earl Mullins, Harold Mullins, Bill Mullins, Dennis "Beardy" Sweeney, Henry Mullins, Danny "Groundhog" Sweeney, Dave "Precious" Sweeney and Ruth Mullins.
He is survived by: his daughter Kelly Smith; his siblings, Jerry Sweeney (Darlene), Steve "Sheep" Sweeney (Donna), Howard Sweeney (Vanita) and Judy Cody (Bill); his niece Billie Fleenor; and his great-niece Katie Fleenor. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews.
