He was predeceased by: his parents, Fernando VanDyke and Patty Jane Horn VanDyke; his daughter Rita Kay VanDyke; and his siblings, Bill of Buck, F. P., C. B., Doc, George, Charlie, Benny VanDyke, Esther Mitchell, Hassie Jackson, Naomi Deel, Rosalie Matney, Julie Galloway and Vergie Shehey.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia VanDyke; his children, Mike VanDyke (Barbara) and Cindy Hess (Terry); his grandchildren, Matt VanDyke (Amber), Kristen Miller (Ryan), Josh VanDyke (Rachel) and Savannah Hess; and his great grandchildren, Abby Miller, Rhett VanDyke and Oakley Jane Miller. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
