She was predeceased by: her father Emmons Glenn; her husband Errol Hartsel Carter; her siblings, Modine Dalton and Avery Redell Nester; and her granddaughter Rachel Cox.

She is survived by: her children, Wava Cox and Shawn; her daughter-in-law Carrie Carter; and her grandchildren, Branson Carter, Jenna Theut (Matthew) and Grace Cox.
