She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Atkinson and Mary Vest Atkinson; her husband Ike Williams Jarels; and her children, Jimmy Gearheart and Tracy Clark.
She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara (Greg Miller) and Betty (Michael Barker); and her siblings, Anita Cooper of Salem, Virginia, Jo Spicer of Elliston, Virginia, Ronnie Atkinson of Christiansburg, Virginia, Elwood Atkinson of Christiansburg, Virginia and Junior Atkinson of Salem, Virginia. She is also survived by four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
