She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Monroe Diggs and Grace Payne Carlisle; her stepfather Curtis Elby Carlisle; her husband Dempsey Ordell Dean; her siblings, Curtis Monroe Carlisle, Doris Corle and Rena Morris; and her grandson Samuel Dean Mimms.
She is survived by: her daughter Kimberly Denise Dean of Charlottesville; her sister Janice Breeden of Charlottesville; her grandchildren, Christopher Patrick Dean of Gordonsville and Nicole Lingelbach Dean of Richmond; and her great grandchild Corey Benjamin Suling. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
