She was predeceased by: her parents, A. D. Bateman and Thelma Bateman; her significant other Louis Alexander Robinson; and her siblings, Rev. Emmitt Bateman, Ray Bateman, David Bateman, Vickie Bateman Ketron, Darlene Bateman Hayter and Josie Bateman.

She is survived by: her daughter Tammy Lester Parks; her caregiver Jason Lester of Abingdon, VA.; and her siblings, Rev. Roy Bateman, Richard Bateman, Howard Bateman, Rev. Lee Bateman and Evelyn Bateman Campbell. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to cover the expense of her funeral.
