He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Wayne and Ruby Quillen Whiten; his grandparents, John Jacob, Nannie Belle Whiten, Ezra and Lottie Quillen; his cousin Tony Quillen; and his great-uncle Thomas Larkey.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley J. Whiten; his children, Melissa Whiten Munsey (Todd), Toni Alisha Whiten (Donny Dixon) and John Jacob Whiten (Ashley); his grandchildren, Courtney Whiten, Kelsey Munsey, Lakin Marshall (Zane), Kaleb Whiten, Sarah Peters, Kassandra Whiten, Camdon Whiten, Peyton Seymour, Cloie Whiten and Jaxson Whiten; his great grandchildren, Riley Perry and Evita Marshall; his siblings, Leah Ann Qualls (Jeff) and Greg Whiten (Donna); and his close friends, Gerald Compton and Rick Corder. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
