He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Fugate and Joann Fugate. He is survived by: his brother John Fugate (Kristy) of Kingsport; his nephews, Grayson and Evan Fugate; and his niece Brittany Hawkins of Jonesborough. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any diabetes research foundation or to the charity of one's choice.
