She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar Phillips and Mammie Phillips (Wooten); her husband Emerson "Dee" France; her siblings, Edgar B. Phillips, Jr. and Doris Phillips Jennings; and her close friend Phyllis Johnson.

She is survived by: her children, Robin France Hilton (Wayne), Tony France (Rebecca) and Sidney France (Paula); her grandchildren, Shawna Clark, Summer France and Nathan Hilton (Angel); her great grandchildren, Rylee Hilton and Ryan Clark; and her nieces, Areatha Templeton and Melissa Arnold.
