He was predeceased by: his parents, Dilver Brown and Stella Payne Brown; his wife Ruth Brown; and his great grandchildren, Anthony and Ayden Bishop.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Brown of Galax and Ramona Rippey of Galax; his grandchildren, Kayla Bishop and Jerry Sawyers; and his siblings, Mary Lou Davis of Hillsville, Duane (Dianne Brown) and Dale (Mary Brown).
